Interim Controller

Our client is seeking an Interim Controller for a 6-month position in their Halifax office. The successful candidate will provide effective management to the financial operations of the organization and thrives in a fast-paced, engaging environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Fixed assets
  • Analysis of financial and source data
  • Managing the Capital Budget
  • Business plan preparation
  • Providing analysis for various reports and systems
  • Prepare financial statements, analytical reports, and month end journal entries
  • Manage a team of three staff - accounts payable, billing, and cash management
  • Other duties as required


  • Minimum of 5-7 years related experience
  • CPA designation
  • Training and experience in preparing business cases, requirement analysis, and project management skills
  • Advanced technological skills including spreadsheet and database reporting.
  • Ability to develop database reports and reporting systems
  • Strong ability to conduct financial analysis/judgement, business case preparation, budget preparation, management reporting and project management
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with others within the organization
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Adaptability and strong problem resolution skills
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
