Finance & Donor Services Specialist

Our client, an esteemed non-profit organization in the healthcare sector, is seeking a Finance & Donor Services Specialist to join their team on a contract basis.  Working out of their Halifax, Nova Scotia offices, this role will be responsible for entering donor gift information, preparing receipts, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Entering dailies, online gifts, lists, and monthly gifts
  • Processing receipts
  • Updating donor information records
  • Run data quality reports
  • Investigate and resolve issues as needed
  • Process accounts payable (coding, cheque runs, EFT’s, credit card expenses)
  • Manage supplier and staff inquiries regarding expenses and AP
  • File daily deposit documents
  • Other duties as required

Requirements: 

  • Post-secondary education in business, administration, or accounting
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a high volume data entry role
  • Previous experience in a not-for-profit environment will be considered an asset
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and/or Raiser’s Edge considered strong assets
  • Comfortable working with various software programs and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Superior attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong work ethic and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Effective communication skills and ability to maintain professional working relationships with others
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
