Accounting Assistant

Our client is seeking an Accounting Assistant for a flexible 2 – 4 week contract opportunity within their Halifax, Nova Scotia offices. The ideal candidate will be a professional individual with some hands-on experience who can work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Invoice coding
  • Bank deposits
  • Coordinating incoming and outgoing mail
  • Spreadsheet tracking
  • Other accounting support duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business or accounting or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting support role
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, positive attitude
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume environment
  • High level of accuracy and ability to find discrepancies
  • Strong ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
