Are you a dynamic, results-oriented professional account looking for a challenging interim leadership assignment? Our client, a public sector employer in Lunenburg County, is seeking an Interim Controller to lead and manage the financial accounting, reporting and the year-end audit. This has permanent potential. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Producing accurate and timely financial statements 
  • Year-end close and reconciliations 
  • Working paper preparation 
  • Maintaining and monitoring internal financial controls 
  • Preparing internal reports and attending town meetings 
  • Financial analysis and variance analysis 
  • Creating and generating other financial and ad hoc reports   


  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation 
  • Minimum 5 years’ full cycle experience at senior accountant level or higher 
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills  
  • Proactive work ethic and ability to make valuable recommendations  
  • Strong ability to work independently and within a team environment 
  • Impeccable attention to detail and strong analytical skills  
  • Strong time management and organizational skills  
  • Interpersonal and ability to positively interact with all levels of an organization
