Our client, a leading institution in the education sector, is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for their office in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This role is a permanent, part-time (with the option for full-time) position ideal for a dedicated, hands-on individual who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Process and verify PO’s and invoices
  • Process vendor payments and reimbursements
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements
  • Expense tracking and entry
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Year-end working paper preparation
  • Back-up for accounts receivable
  • Prepare annual tax receipts for credits
  • Ad hoc project work as assigned


  • Post-secondary education in accounting or bookkeeping; or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years’ accounts payable experience
  • Proficiency using QuickBooks, Excel and MS Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Self-starter, ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Attentive and accurate
  • Personable and ability to maintain open communication
