Our client is seeking a Bookkeeper for a 13-14-month term position at their central Halifax location. The successful candidate will have previous full cycle bookkeeping experience, ideally in a project-based industry, and enjoys working in a dynamic and small team environment.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Accounts payable entries and cheque run
  • Accounts receivable processing and assistance with collections
  • Project & progress billing
  • Payroll assistance
  • Account reconciliations including bank, pre-paid expenses, accrued liabilities, credit card, and work in progress
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Bank deposits
  • Semi-annual inventory and petty cash counts
  • Semi-annual and Annual bank and bonding reports
  • Tax form preparation 


  • Post-secondary education in business or accounting at the college or university level
  • 2-3+ years’ experience in a comparable bookkeeping role
  • Experience using QuickBooks Online is an asset
  • Microsoft Excel is required
  • Strong computer skills and comfortable working with online technology
  • Superior communication skills
  • Dependable and adaptable (willingness to pitch-in where needed)
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Above average organizational and time management skills
