Accounting Clerk

Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute your accounting support talents within a leading Atlantic Canadian organization? Our client is seeking an Accounting Clerk for their office in Halifax. This is a contract position, and a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a respected organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, posting to general ledger, invoicing, tenant recoveries, purchase orders, employee expense claims, and bank deposits
  • Data entry
  • Monitoring and collecting accounts receivable
  • Monitoring compliance with financial policies
  • Other accounting support duties as required

Key Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting at the college or university level
  • 1-2 years’ experience in an Accounting role, or equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Demonstrated team player and collaborative style
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel with the ability to learn new software quickly
  • Familiarity with Mac processing considered an asset
