Our client, a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization, is seeking a Controller for their head office in the Amherst area. This is a permanent opportunity.
Reporting to the President, you will manage and lead the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for this group of companies. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Financial statement preparation
- Working paper preparation
- Month end and year end preparation (journal entries, bank reconciliations, accruals, etc.)
- General ledger maintenance
- Staff management
- Additional accounting and special project work as required
As the ideal candidate, you have completed your CPA designation and have a minimum of seven years’ accounting experience, including public accounting firm experience. With strong technical accounting skills, you are a driven professional, demonstrating above average problem solving ability. With well developed time management and organizational skills, you work well in a busy environment and can manage conflicting priorities. Additionally, you combine excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong work ethic. You take initiative and have the ability to contribute to a positive, team oriented work environment.
