Payroll Clerk

We’re currently seeking a Payroll Clerk for a short-term contract opportunity in the Truro area. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Payroll Clerk is an integral member of the accounting team within our client’s busy, deadline driven office. The primary function of this position will be to process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 200 employees.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reviewing, verifying and entering payroll data
  • Preparing payroll reports
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Payroll reconciliations
  • Responding to payroll inquiries
  • Other payroll-related duties as required


  • Post-secondary education in business or accounting
  • Completed or working towards Canadian Payroll Association certification
  • 3 years’ experience in similar payroll processing role
  • Superior time management and organization skills
  • High level of accuracy and keen eye for detail
  • Experience with Great Plains is a strong asset
