Accounting Administrator

Our client is seeking an Accounting Administrator for their location in Halifax. This is a permanent growth opportunity with an established, thriving organization.

Reporting to and working closely with the senior management team, you will provide a broad variety of accounting functions within this close-knit accounting group. Responsibilities will include:

  • Accounts payable processing
  • Accounts receivable processing
  • Journal entries
  • Reconciliations
  • Month end and year end working papers
  • Compiling financial inputs for management reports (AR reports, cash flow, WIP, customer statements, etc.)
  • Accounting administration
  • Other accounting duties as assigned

As the ideal candidate, you have completed post-secondary education with a focus in accounting at the college or university level and have gained a minimum 2 years’ similar, full-cycle accounting experience. Candidates working towards a CPA designation or planning to complete one in the future are also encouraged to apply given the growth potential for this role.

A keen and motivated individual, you display exceptional attention to detail along with strong organizational skills. Excellent time management and the ability to successfully prioritize are also important. With effective interpersonal and communication skills, you enjoy taking initiative and thrive within a busy accounting team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required while prior experience in QuickBooks (or similar) and electronic file management will be considered benefits.
