Accounting & Payroll Administrator
Our client is seeking an Accounting & Payroll Administrator for their Halifax office. This is a permanent position and the opportunity to work within a strong team of professionals in a client-focused industry.
As a key member of the accounting and finance department, you will be responsible for processing multiple payrolls, as well as day to day accounting support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Payroll processing, reconciliations and remittances
- Benefits administration
- Accounts payable and receivable processing
- Journal entries
- Bank reconciliations
- Month end working paper preparation for review
- Financial reporting as required
- Assisting with preparation of financial statements
- Other accounting and administrative support within the department
As the ideal candidate, you have a minimum of 3 years’ experience processing payroll and a solid understanding of payroll processes and legislation. Completed payroll certification will be considered a strong asset while post-secondary education in accounting at the college or university level is required.

Demonstrating a high level of accuracy and a keen attention to detail, you take pride in your work and understand the importance of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Rounding out your qualifications is a positive attitude, client-focused outlook, and a willingness to learn. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, while prior experience using QuickBooks is a benefit, but not required.
