Our client, a thriving and creative organization, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller for their Halifax office. This is a contract position.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, and working within the close-knit accounting group, you will be responsible for:
- GL reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations
- Inter-company account reconciliations
- Cost reporting
- Financial statement preparation
- Additional accounting and special projects as required
As the ideal candidate, you have completed post-secondary education in accounting and have gained a minimum of five years’ full cycle accounting experience. Candidates working towards a designation or with a newly completed designation are also welcome to apply.
Combining superior technical accounting skills and a solid work ethic, you are a driven individual who enjoys both independent work and team based efforts. With excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, you have exceptional attention to detail and a keen interest in joining a strong team in an exciting, fast-paced environment. Previous experience in project accounting will be considered an asset but is not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, while prior experience with Simply Accounting is considered an asset.
